Terms of service.
Plain-language summary of what you agree to when you use Folden. Read the privacy policy alongside this — they're a pair.
1. Who this is between
These terms are between you and Folden, the AI-native artifact platform operated at folden.io. By signing in, you agree to these terms.
2. What Folden does
Folden is a tool for solo and small-firm professionals to draft client artifacts (contracts, memos, briefs, runbooks, etc.) with AI assistance. You upload finished examples and case- specific inputs; Folden produces drafts in your structure and voice that you edit before use.
You remain the professional in charge. Folden produces drafts; it does not produce final deliverables. You are responsible for reviewing every artifact before sending, filing, signing, or otherwise relying on it.
3. Your account
- · You must be at least 18 to use Folden.
- · One account per person. Don't share credentials.
- · You're responsible for keeping your passkey safe.
- · You can delete your account anytime from Settings — see the privacy policy for what happens.
4. What you can put into Folden
You can upload artifacts and inputs that you have the right to process — your own work, work you produce for clients with their consent, work in the public domain. Don't upload material you're not authorized to handle.
You retain ownership of everything you put in. Folden gets a limited license to process it for the sole purpose of producing drafts and patterns for you. We don't republish it, share it, sell it, or train models on it.
5. AI output
Folden's drafts are generated by large language models (Anthropic Claude in V1). LLM output is not infallible — drafts may contain errors, hallucinated specifics, or omissions even with our PII tokenization and prompt safeguards. Always review every draft before you rely on it. Folden is a drafting assistant; you are the licensed professional whose judgment is final.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Folden to:
- · Process data you're not authorized to handle
- · Produce material that violates someone's rights or applicable law
- · Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
- · Circumvent rate limits, encryption, audit, or other safeguards
- · Resell or whitelabel Folden as your own product
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability but make no uptime guarantee in V1. Planned maintenance windows will be announced when possible. We're not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability.
8. Pricing and changes
V1 pricing is being explored with design-partner customers. Posted prices apply at signup; we'll give 30 days' notice before any price change affects you. Cancel anytime; your account stays active through the paid period.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Folden's liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Termination
You can stop using Folden anytime — delete your account from Settings and your data becomes unrecoverable per the privacy policy. We can suspend or terminate accounts for material violations of these terms; we'll attempt to give notice and a chance to cure when reasonable.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Folden is established. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless an applicable consumer- protection law gives you a different right.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Folden evolves. Material changes will be announced before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, close your account before the effective date.
