Folden for lawyers

AI for lawyers that learns your judgment.

From engagement letters to opinions to demand letters, Folden reads one finished example and produces every next draft in your structure, your voice, your standard clauses. Client data stays privileged: per-user encryption, cryptographic audit chain, and PII tokenization at the LLM boundary.

Audience

Solo and small-firm lawyers across practice areas — commercial, employment, family, intellectual property, tax, sports, immigration, regulatory.

Artifacts Folden drafts

  • Engagement & retention letters
  • Client agreements and SOWs
  • Demand and settlement letters
  • Memos, opinions, and position papers
  • Briefs, motions, and litigation correspondence
  • Exclusivity, indemnity, and termination clauses

What Folden solves

  • Drafting drudgery eats the day

The structural work — recitals, boilerplate, jurisdictional fit — is repetitive but consequential. Folden produces the structural draft so your time goes to the clauses you actually negotiate.

  • Client data can't go into ChatGPT

Privilege, regulatory exposure, and house policy block consumer AI from real matters. Folden runs on Latten — per-user encryption, audit chain, PII tokenized before any LLM sees a token.

  • Your judgment doesn't transfer to AI by writing it down

Tacit expertise breaks under articulation. Folden captures it from your edits instead — every refinement becomes a scoped pattern (always / conditional / one-off) that applies to future matters.

Built on Latten

Your client data was never a training dataset.

Folden runs on Latten, a sovereignty layer purpose-built for regulated work. Per-user envelope encryption with AWS KMS. A cryptographic audit chain you can verify. PII tokenized at the model boundary so Anthropic, OpenAI, or any other provider never sees raw client data — only structural placeholders. Right-to- erasure is a single-row delete.

Frequently asked

Questions lawyers ask before they trust a tool.

  • Is Folden safe to use with privileged client data?

Yes. Every byte is encrypted at rest with a per-user key generated by AWS KMS. Privileged content is encrypted before it leaves the request, the cryptographic audit chain records every access, and PII (names, parties, financials) is tokenized before any text reaches the LLM provider — so Anthropic, OpenAI, or any other model never sees raw client identifiers.

  • How does Folden learn my drafting style?

By demonstration. Drop one finished example — an engagement letter, a brief, an opinion — and Folden reads structure, clause language, voice, and the patterns you bake in. Every edit you make to a future draft becomes a captured pattern, scoped to whether it's a one-off, conditional (this jurisdiction, this matter type), or a permanent rule.

  • What practice areas does Folden support?

Folden is vertical-aware but not vertical-locked. Commercial, employment, family, IP, tax, sports, immigration, and regulatory practices are all supported on day one because the artifact-shaped paradigm is the same: drop an example, get drafts in your shape, edit and capture patterns.

  • How is Folden different from Harvey, Hebbia, or Casetext CoCounsel?

Those tools are research-shaped or chat-shaped on top of legal corpora. Folden is artifact-shaped: the deliverable is the workspace, your edits are the training signal, and your private patterns library is the asset that compounds. Folden is built for the drafting work, not the research work.

  • What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Right-to-erasure is a single-row delete. Your encrypted data key disappears, and every ciphertext — including R2 backups — becomes permanently unrecoverable. There is no retention exception.
